Background
European education business selling printed math prep books and online courses for students preparing for national school math exams. Founder-led brand with a strong organic following but inconsistent paid acquisition – the founder wanted a predictable channel that didn’t burn budget when his attention was elsewhere.
The reality before the system worked:
- two SKU types (physical books + online courses) with different margins and buyer journeys
- strongly seasonal demand around exam windows
- previous paid attempts either underspent or burned budget on the wrong creative angles

Execution
- Meta Ads only – no Google – to keep the system simple and the founder in control
- Direct-response creative built around the exam-prep pain point, in the founder’s own voice
- Two distinct funnels: cold-to-checkout for books, cold-to-email-to-course for the online course
- Iterative creative refreshes around offer angles, course bundles, and pre-exam urgency
- Server-side conversion tracking (Pixel + CAPI) so the algorithm optimized against real purchases, not just landing page views
- Spend scaled with profitability, not vanity metrics – profit per ad dollar was the real KPI
Lead Flow
Two parallel flows running off the same ad account:
- Books: Meta ad to product landing page to checkout
- Online course: Meta ad to email opt-in to 5-email sequence to course checkout
Both flows were measured by gross profit, not revenue, so the system could tell us which campaigns deserved more budget vs. which were just looking busy.
Why It Worked
